A Letter Unsent

How often do we express ourselves with the written word, only to hesitate sending it to the person for whom it was written? There are so many obstacles to overcome — the fear of misinterpretation, of hovering or smothering, of not saying the right thing.

I’ve been struggling with words lately, and that terrifies me. Who am I without my words? I’ve put so much stock into expressing myself verbally that when I’m blocked or stumbling, I almost drown in the swelling fear of losing what makes me who I am.

Just who am I, anyway?

Maybe this is a sign. Perhaps a temporary vow of silence is in order.

  1. What you need is inspiration. The silence is not meant for you to be quiet, rather it is for you stop and listen. Its our thougths that come before the writting. Maybe you just need to stop trying to write and just listen to what you are trying to say. Then the flow will begin again!!!! The written word has a vibration. When you are stuck or stumling, its probably because the vibration of the sentence or idea or thought you are trying to convey is “off” in some way. Its not vibrating at the frequency you want it to. I work in the world of words. Let the stream of consciousness flow and just listen. It will come when its time for it to come! Never give up!
